The Roman Museum presents finds from Osterburken and the region and informs about the Romans on the Limes. It is listed in the UNESCO management plan as a “supraregional museum” and serves as a “lighthouse” and “entrance gate” for visitors.
The foundation of the collection on display are the finds from the Limes region in northern Baden, the old Grand Ducal collection with unique finds from the Limes, such as the group of statues from the Schneidershecke or the Mithras altar from Osterburken.
